A cryptanalysis method developed by Mitsuru Matsui (Mitsubishi), which searches for correlations between plaintext, ciphertext and the key that are true slightly more often than not, and then gathers statistics on large numbers of known plaintext-ciphertext pairs, looking for biases that will disclose clues about the key.
