OBS: C'est au Bureau du contrôleur général qu'il incombe de contrôler la qualité, et pour renforcer la capacité de vérification interne, il faut mettre en œuvre des initiatives de recrutement et de maintien en poste, affermir les relations et les partenariats avec les associations professionnelles, et élaborer des contenus de cours.
OBS: En 2004, le Bureau du contrôleur général est devenu un organisme distinct du Secrétariat du Conseil du Trésor du Canada. Son mandat consiste à renforcer la gestion financière et la vérification interne dans toute l'administration fédérale au moyen d'un large éventail d'activités pour mettre à jour la série de politiques de gestion financière et de vérification interne du Conseil du Trésor et surveiller leur application; faire fonction de chef de file auprès des collectivités de la gestion financière et de la vérification interne; attirer et maintenir en poste un personnel professionnel de gestion financière et de vérification interne; améliorer la qualité, l'intégration et le caractère opportun de l'information financière et appuyer les systèmes d'information pour soutenir la prise de décisions et la responsabilisation, et surveiller, avec le ministère des Finances et le sous-receveur général, la préparation des Comptes publics du Canada et des états financiers consolidés vérifiés du gouvernement.

OBS: Quality must be monitored by the Office of the Comptroller General, and work must be undertaken to strengthen internal audit capacity through recruitment and retention initiatives, strengthened liaison and partnership with professional associations, and curriculum development.
OBS: In 2004, the Office of the Comptroller General was recreated as a distinct office within the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. Its mandate is to strengthen financial management and internal audit across the federal government through a wide range of activities including renewing the Treasury Board suite of financial management and internal audit policies and overseeing their application; providing leadership to the financial management and internal audit communities; attracting and retaining a professional cadre of financial management and internal audit personnel; improving the quality, integration and timeliness of financial information and supporting information systems for effective decision making and accountability; and, with the Department of Finance and the Deputy Receiver General, overseeing the preparation of the Public Accounts of Canada and the government's audited consolidated financial statement.
