CONT: Ducts, fans and air cleaners are integral parts of a local exhaust system. Ducting systems transport air from the hood to the fan or towards exit opening. Because an improperly designed ducting system is susceptible to maintenance and operation problems, ducts should be designed to maintain an optimum air velocity.
