EXP: la majorité des cantons est normalement requise pour qu'un objet soumis au référendum obligatoire soit accepté. Les cantons d'Obwald, de Nidwald, de Bâle-Ville, de Bâle-Campagne, d'Appenzell Rhodes-Extérieures et d'Appenzell Rhodes-Intérieures disposent chacun d'une demi-voix.

EXP: per l'adozione di un testo sottoposto a referendum obbligatorio, è richiesta anche la maggioranza dei Cantoni. I Cantoni di Obvaldo, Nidvaldo, Basilea Città, Basilea Campagna, Appenzello Esterno e Appenzello Interno dispongono di mezzo voto ciascuno.

EXP: a mandatory referendum is achieved when the popular vote has been in favour of the proposal in a majority of the cantons. In calculating the majority, the results in the cantons of Obwalden, Nidwalden, Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Appenzell Innerrhoden each count as half a cantonal vote.
