Group Model HMO

DOM: US managed care; USG: not to be confused with the Swiss use of HMO as an insurance model; EXP: this term is related to the US-notion of HMO as organisations that provide health insurance solutions arranged between selected health care providers, employers and emplyees according to the gatekeeper model; the Staff Model HMO is characterized by HMO ownership of the delivery system facilities and the employment of physicians on salary to serve exclusively the HMO membership; other HMO models are the Group Model and individual practice associations (IPAs)
