Désignations

français
  • sentiment d'importance face aux autres (proposal, masculine noun)
anglais
  • mattering (correct)

CONT: Schlossberg, Lynch & Chickering (1989) define mattering as the ""belief people have, whether right or wrong, that they matter to someone else, that they are the object of someone else's attention, and that others care about them and appreciate them"". Mattering has been specifically studied in relation to juvenile delinquency (Rosenberg & McCullough, 1981) and adult learning (Schlossberg & Warren, 1985). It seems a logical extension to consider the matter of mattering in relation to the experience of people who are unemployed.
