OBS: L'Association mondiale d'espéranto (Universala Esperanto-Asocio, ou UEA) a été créée en 1908 comme rassemblement d'espérantistes individuels. UEA est maintenant la plus importante association internationale consacrée à l'espéranto et a des membres dans 117 pays. UEA vise non seulement à propager l'espéranto, mais également à susciter les débats sur le problème linguistique mondial et à rappeler l'importance de l'égalité entre les langues. Selon son acte constitutif, UEA a quatre objectifs : promouvoir l'utilisation de la langue internationale, l'espéranto; agir en vue de résoudre le problème linguistique dans les relations internationales et de faciliter la communication internationale; faciliter les rapports humains de tous genres, tant physiques que moraux, sans égard aux différences dues à la nationalité, à la race, au sexe, à la religion, à la politique, ou à la langue; cultiver parmi ses membres un sentiment solide de solidarité, et développer chez eux la compréhension et l'estime pour les autres peuples.

OBS: The Universal Esperanto Association was founded in 1908 as an organization of individual Esperantists. Currently UEA is the largest international organization for Esperanto speakers and has members in 117 countries. UEA works not only to promote Esperanto, but to stimulate discussion of the world language problem and to call attention to the necessity of equality among languages. Its statute lists the following four goals: to promote the use of the international language Esperanto; to act for the solution of the language problem in international relations and to facilitate international communication; to encourage all types of spiritual and material relations among people, irrespective of differences of nationality, race, sex, religion, politics, or language; to nurture among its members a strong sense of solidarity, and to develop in them understanding and respect for other peoples.

OBS: La Asociación Universal de Esperanto (UEA por su nombre en Esperanto) fue fundada en 1980 como una organización de esperantistas individuales. Actualmente UEA es la organización internacional más grande para los hablantes de Esperanto y tiene miembros en 117 países. EUA trabaja no solamente para difundir el Esperanto, sino también para estimular la discusión sobre el problema lingüístico mundial y llamar la atención sobre la necesidad de igualdad entre los idiomas. Su estatuto enumera los siguientes cuatro objetivos: Difundir el uso del idioma internacional Esperanto; Trabajar por la solución del problema lingüístico en las relaciones internacionales y facilitar la comunicación internacional; Hacer más fácil toda clase de relaciones espirituales y materiales entre los seres humanos, a pesar de las diferencias de nacionalidad, raza, sexo, religión, política o lengua; Hacer crecer entre sus miembros un fuerte sentimiento de solidaridad y desarrollar entre ellos la comprensión y la estimación por otros pueblos.
